What a wonderful Triathlon! There were so many new faces at this year’s event. There were many more handicapped children participating, which has been a goal for the foundation. Prime Time’s bowling slide was well used by many participants in wheelchairs! Children were everywhere and having tons of fun. I was partnered with my granddaughter and a boy with autism. We had a great time in all three events - bowling, skee ball and miniature golf.
There were more door prizes than last year and Rosa’s Cafe donated free kid’s meals to each and every participant. The Silent Auction had more items as well. (I got the autographed Yankee’s cap that I wanted!) The ZhuZhu pets in the silent auction provided the children a great opportunity to get involved there as well.
The foundation was able to help many more children this year with the donations and contributions of each of you.
If you know of a family facing medical obstacles – financial, bureaucratic, medical, and social – please show them this website. The Thomas family learned a great deal about the agencies and problems many face while dealing with handicapped children.
Thanks especially to our friends at Prime Time for all their assistance and for the use of their facilities. They even donated door prizes.
Thanks for the generosity of all our sponsors who made it possible for all Triathlon participants including their adult partners to compete at no charge in the three events that make up the Joseph Thomas Memorial Triathlon.
Another special thanks to Doug Hodel Photography for capturing moments of joy on the faces of the participants.
Individual awards were given to the top bowling, skee ball and miniature golf junior competitors.
Sincerely,
Joseph Thomas’ Granny,
Roenna Thomas
